Matcha  Processing

Unicitys Chi-Oka Matcha is grown on centuries-old Japanese plantations and prepared using ancient, traditional methods. The leaves of the shade-grown tea plants are hand-picked once each year by people trained to recognize and select only the finest and youngest buds. The shade helps slow plant growth, turns the leaves a darker shade of green, and causes an increase in the production of amino acids - make the resulting tea taste sweeter.​
